Körber pursues ambitious climate targets

In October 2023, we had the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) verify our commitment to achieving net-zero CO₂e emissions throughout the entire value chain by 2040. We would like to introduce you to some of the measures that will help us achieve this ambitious goal.

Group-wide standards for Ecodesign

Fritz Studer Award for outstanding doctoral thesis

This year’s winner was Dr. Josef Mayr from ETH Zurich. The academic was praised for his doctoral thesis on the topic of the temperature characteristics of machine tools. He developed a method to calculate and evaluate thermal effects on machine tools. A large number of exciting and interesting submissions were received from several European countries.

The Fritz Studer Award is directed at students and post-graduates of European universities and universities of applied science in technological disciplines. The award recognizes theses which aim to strengthen the innovative strength of the mechanical engineering industry with practical and realizable ideas. Submitted theses are assessed by a jury comprising scientists from ETH Zurich and technical managers of Körber Schleifring.
